Obituary for Pamela J. Nurkkala

Pamela Joyce Nurkkala, 69 went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born on October 2, 1946 in Pomeroy, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Kaylor) Moore. She attended Fairborn High School in Fairborn, Ohio, graduating in 1964. On July 22, 1967, she married Charles R. Nurkkala in Marquette, Michigan, and have spent nearly 49 wonderful years together. Pamela worked as a Volunteer Coordinator in the Gwinn School System while in Marquette County, and then as a Customer Service Representative at the First Community Bank in Johnson County, Missouri, before moving and settling in Crystal Falls in 2004.

Pamela is survived by her loving husband, Charles Nurkkala of Crystal Falls; her daughter, Betty Anderson of Portage, WI; her son, Russell (Bridget) Nurkkala of Blaine, MN; grandsons, Wyatt Lewko and Paul Nurkkala; granddaughter, Finnley Nurkkala; 2 sisters, Penny (Gene) Cooper of Brunswick, GA, and Teresa (Bill) Burnette of Fairborn, OH, and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her sister, Trina Moore, and her grandparents.

Visitation and funeral services will be held in the Spring.

Burial will be at the Covington Cemetery.
