Johnny McMillan was a great person and close friend to me as was her family. Her father was a sports person and my baseball coach and her brother Bill was into all sorts of sports. Johnny was a very pretty girl and a great cheerleader. She was kind to all and it was a terrible event in her passing. I'm sure that all who knew her will still miss her and wished her life had gone way beyond 1974. Mike Howard
I have always wondered about her early passing. I am glad you wrote about her I remember Johnny as having the perfect "flip". For you guys that was the name of the hairdo we all wore. Especially senior year .
Johnny was in Flyerettes with me and we marched right beside each other and were in alot of classes together. I went to her funeral and it was a great loss. Sharon Miller Ray
Johnny and I were never close in high school, but I happened to walk by her room when she was in the Wright-Pat hospital for tests. Just to show how times have changed, I sat on her bed and we shared a cigarette! I visited her often after that. And then one day I came and her bed was empty. I wrote a story about those few months years later. If I can find it, I will send it to Gayle. Johnny was so brave during that whole ordeal--never lost her sense of humor.

I remember her beautiful smile and her great athletic ability as a cheerleader.
She died of Lupus in 1966.

I am so glad Mary Lynn shared about her time with Johnny! And we would love to have those remembrances for the site!
Blessings and peace.
