Best wishes on YOUR day!!
Darrell,
Thanks for joining our site! And great to see you at our get-together a week ago. I will be posting some pix of that momentous event shortly. Waiting for those classmates that also have pix to send them to me.
Glad to hear you got the vaccine. I received mine 2/1. Other than a sore arm for one night, there were no side-effects. Followup 2/22. I am still am puzzled by the inconsistent roll-out!! How's everyone else doing? Take care out there!
Charles “Chuck” William Long, 74, of Crittenden, KY passed away Friday January 15, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Florence. Born December 30, 1946 in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late Eugene Howard and Margaret Gitzinger Long.
On April 12, 1969, Chuck was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Elaine Fisk; she survives. He retired from A T & T in Williamstown. In 1964 he graduated from Fairborn High School in Fairborn, OH. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam era in the United States Marines. Chuck will long be remembered for his kindness and willingness to always reach out and lend a helping hand. He was a “fix-it” kind of guy and a jack-of-all-trades. Sometimes he could be seen holding a grandbaby in one hand and a wrench in the other!! He held memberships in the American Legion – Post 4 and Communication Workers of America (CWA); he faithfully served Claryville Baptist Church in Campbell County.
He leaves to carry on his legacy, his wife of almost 52 years, Kathy Long; two sons: Jeffrey (Danielle) Long of Independence and their children: Jennifer (Ben) Griffiths, Meghan, David, Christopher, Devin, Jadyce, Levi, Tallie and Bitty; Timothy (Ariel) Long of Crittenden and their children: Andrew Long and Stellyn Long; one daughter: Cindy (Stephen) Neuhaus of Florence and their children: Samantha & Eric; three brothers: Robert (Judy) Long of Dayton, OH, Richard (Jean) Long of Tipp City, OH, Jerry (late Noreen) Long of Kettering, OH; and one sister: Mary Ann (Joe) Burless of Dayton, OH. Four great-grandchildren also survive: Benny Griffiths, Maxwell Griffiths, Emma Griffiths and Luke Griffiths. He was preceded in death by a brother Steven Long and his wife, Terri.
Family will receive friends Wednesday January 20, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m at Stanley Funeral Homes - Williamstown location. A Celebration of Chuck’s life will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Bro. David Hammond officiating. Arrival time for burial at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please allow Chuck’s memory to live on by helping a neighbor or friend in need, fixing or repairing something for a widow or doing something good for a stranger…may it all be done for the Glory of God!!
